Mind blown. I don\u2019t think I can accurately capture in words how invigorating, energizing, and stimulating the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/jnhcoaching.us17.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=1edbcf2879558e7cdb5ac6676&amp;id=bdaaad2a28&amp;e=56e0a5cca5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Oslo Business Forum<\/a>\u00a0was. I was so excited to hear Simon Sinek speak live but I had no idea how many other incredible speakers would be there, and how much I would take away from this event!!\u00a0<br>\u00a0<br>I was particularly impressed by the caliber of the speakers. The Speaker Coach in me was in absolute heaven! These speakers were absolutely riveting to watch and listen to. They had hardly any slides, and the slides they did have were usually pictorial or graphical, to support what they were saying. If you didn\u2019t listen to the presentation, the slides would not have told the story on their own. Which made the talks so engaging!\u00a0<br><br>Each of the speakers left me with something memorable. A fact, a statistic, an anecdote, a metaphor. But what struck me most was that all the speakers had one main point in common: LOVE.<br>\u00a0<br>They all talked about love. Caring. Heart-ware. The importance of emotion and feelings in leadership. It was both fascinating and gratifying to see. Love is one of my core values, and I have always been a huge proponent of the power of it in the workplace. \u2665<br>\u00a0<br>The energy, the vibe, the buzz, the intangible brilliance of this Forum is indescribable. I\u2019ve already signed up for next year\u2019s event!!<br>\u00a0<br>It brought to mind the concept of eudaimonic happiness. If you don\u2019t know what eudaimonic happiness is, don\u2019t worry I didn\u2019t know the term until a few years ago either!\u00a0\ud83d\ude0a\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/jnhcoaching.us17.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=1edbcf2879558e7cdb5ac6676&amp;id=c59377afaa&amp;e=56e0a5cca5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mark Manson<\/a>\u00a0described it well in a recent newsletter and I think it is really applicable here:\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"470\" height=\"482\" src=\"https:\/\/jnhcoaching.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/MARK-MANSON-EXTRACT.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5633\" style=\"width:470px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/jnhcoaching.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/MARK-MANSON-EXTRACT.png 470w, https:\/\/jnhcoaching.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/MARK-MANSON-EXTRACT-293x300.png 293w, https:\/\/jnhcoaching.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/MARK-MANSON-EXTRACT-12x12.png 12w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 470px) 100vw, 470px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Being part of the OBF was the best version of eudaimonic happiness. And I\u2019d love to share a few of my highlights with you!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#704c9f\" class=\"has-inline-color\">BUILDING READINESS FOR THE UNKNOWN&#8230;<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This was the first panel discussion of the event, and honestly, I turned to my husband afterwards and said it was worth the price of the ticket just to be part of it!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"394\" height=\"561\" src=\"https:\/\/jnhcoaching.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Julia-OBF-edited.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5636\" style=\"width:214px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/jnhcoaching.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Julia-OBF-edited.png 394w, https:\/\/jnhcoaching.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Julia-OBF-edited-211x300.png 211w, https:\/\/jnhcoaching.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Julia-OBF-edited-8x12.png 8w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 394px) 100vw, 394px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The discussion centered around how leaders need to navigate paradoxes and uncertainty. As panelist\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/jnhcoaching.us17.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=1edbcf2879558e7cdb5ac6676&amp;id=f0cfbd8ba9&amp;e=56e0a5cca5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bente Kristin Malmo<\/a>\u00a0put it, \u201c<em>Your competitive edge is no longer knowledge. Your competitive edge is the ability to learn<\/em>.\u201d YES!!! Curiosity, growth mindset, and the agility to learn new things is the real make-or-break skill that effective and successful leaders need. (Coincidentally, this was the topic of my\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/jnhcoaching.us17.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=1edbcf2879558e7cdb5ac6676&amp;id=835e4f3f2e&amp;e=56e0a5cca5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Thursday Thought<\/a>\u00a0that week!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"325\" height=\"318\" src=\"https:\/\/jnhcoaching.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/OBF.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5634\" style=\"width:218px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/jnhcoaching.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/OBF.png 325w, https:\/\/jnhcoaching.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/OBF-300x294.png 300w, https:\/\/jnhcoaching.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/OBF-12x12.png 12w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 325px) 100vw, 325px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Malmo also talked about the importance of reflection \u2013 one of the topics closest to my coach\u2019s heart and a topic from my last newsletter! \u2013 saying, \u201c<em>You need to be quick, but you need to step back and find time for reflection \u2013 to assess how you approach the future.<\/em>\u201d Wise words and excellent advice!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#704c9f\" class=\"has-inline-color\">THE FLUX MINDSET&#8230;<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/jnhcoaching.us17.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=1edbcf2879558e7cdb5ac6676&amp;id=350fd1cfaf&amp;e=56e0a5cca5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">April Rinne<\/a>\u00a0talked about leading and living in a world where we don\u2019t have much control. She introduced the idea of\u00a0positive friction<em>:\u00a0<\/em>mistakes that allow for learning and growth. And pointed out that \u201c<em>we will take a wrong answer quickly rather than wait for a right answers. It\u2019s when we\u2019re rushing that we make foolish mistakes<\/em>.\u201d And foolish mistakes are the antithesis of positive friction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"748\" height=\"538\" src=\"https:\/\/jnhcoaching.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Pace-to-Thrive.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5637\" style=\"width:322px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/jnhcoaching.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Pace-to-Thrive.png 748w, https:\/\/jnhcoaching.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Pace-to-Thrive-300x216.png 300w, https:\/\/jnhcoaching.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Pace-to-Thrive-18x12.png 18w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 748px) 100vw, 748px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She also encouraged us to \u201c<em>take some time to reflect about what are my beliefs that are no longer fit for purpose?<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I was so interested in her talk that I bought her book,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/jnhcoaching.us17.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=1edbcf2879558e7cdb5ac6676&amp;id=8b25b3e6b6&amp;e=56e0a5cca5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Flux Mindset: 8 Superpowers for Thriving in Constant Change<\/a>&nbsp;and can\u2019t wait to read it. Watch this space for a review!&nbsp;\ud83d\ude0a<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#704c9f\" class=\"has-inline-color\">SIMPLE QUESTIONS TO UNLOCK INNOVATION&#8230;<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019ve been following&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/jnhcoaching.us17.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=1edbcf2879558e7cdb5ac6676&amp;id=ff6da12934&amp;e=56e0a5cca5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Diana Kander<\/a>&nbsp;for a while and she is without question the most dynamic and engaging speaker of the event for me. She was&nbsp;<strong>dynamite<\/strong>. Her comparison of Snoop Dogg to Vanilla Ice was very memorable. Who adapted and grew, and who did not?? (Spoiler: Vanilla Ice is still stuck in the 90s. Snoop is iconic and far more influential today.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I loved her idea of each birthday being a new version. So when Diana turned 44, she became&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/jnhcoaching.us17.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=1edbcf2879558e7cdb5ac6676&amp;id=90d8d8dba5&amp;e=56e0a5cca5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Version 4.4<\/a>. What will this system upgrade mean? \u201c<em>What features and benefits does this version have that previous versions didn\u2019t have<\/em>?\u201d Such a great perspective!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And her best quote&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"750\" height=\"412\" src=\"https:\/\/jnhcoaching.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Change-is-inevitable.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5638\" style=\"width:318px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/jnhcoaching.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Change-is-inevitable.png 750w, https:\/\/jnhcoaching.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Change-is-inevitable-300x165.png 300w, https:\/\/jnhcoaching.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Change-is-inevitable-18x10.png 18w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Boom!!!! This is the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/jnhcoaching.us17.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=1edbcf2879558e7cdb5ac6676&amp;id=42671c96b4&amp;e=56e0a5cca5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Self-Authoring Mind<\/a>\u00a0in action. Growth is a choice. But potentially the most important choice we can make.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#704c9f\" class=\"has-inline-color\">HOW THE WORLD&#8217;S BEST LEADERS UNLEASH THE MOST POWERFUL FORCE IN BUSINESS&#8230;<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s love. The most powerful force in business is love.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Marcus Buckingham was incredibly persuasive talking about how the data is inescapable. Love is the most powerful force in business. He struggled to accept this \u2013 as he joked, he\u2019s a British man and a psychometrician who could barely even say the word! \u2013 but this is what the data conclusively and powerfully show.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c<em>The opposite of Artificial Intelligence is genuine emotion<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>5s are love. And 4s are not 5s.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"740\" height=\"416\" src=\"https:\/\/jnhcoaching.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Graph.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5639\" style=\"width:317px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/jnhcoaching.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Graph.png 740w, https:\/\/jnhcoaching.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Graph-300x169.png 300w, https:\/\/jnhcoaching.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Graph-18x10.png 18w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 740px) 100vw, 740px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#704c9f\" class=\"has-inline-color\">BRINGING LEADERSHIP TO LIFE&#8230;<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/jnhcoaching.us17.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=1edbcf2879558e7cdb5ac6676&amp;id=5207588f81&amp;e=56e0a5cca5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gianpiero Petriglieri<\/a>\u00a0spoke so eloquently about leadership. As an Organisational Behaviour professor at INSEAD, leadership is his wheelhouse.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He too equated leadership with love. He said \u201c<em><strong>Leadership is a kind of love<\/strong>. It\u2019s between people. It holds us together and moves us forward at the same time<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And \u201c<em>any activity that broadens your capacity to care is leadership development<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>How forward-thinking is that?!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#704c9f\" class=\"has-inline-color\">SIMON SINEK&#8230;<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Of course I was at the OBF to see Simon!! That was my reason for going. And he did not disappoint!!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So many nuggets of wisdom in his session, \u201cBuilding High-Performing Teams\u201d.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Top of the list was that we are too afraid to ask for help. The best thing we can do as leaders is realize that \u201c<em>you will feel overwhelmed if you think that you have to have all the answers.&nbsp;<strong>The single most important thing you can do as a leader is to ask for help<\/strong><\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Couldn\u2019t agree more!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Simon too spoke about love, and how \u201c<em>we\u2019ve got to take business from a transaction to a feeling<\/em>.\u201d And to do so we need to \u201c<em>learn the human skill of listening and holding space<\/em>.\u201d \u2665&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Perfection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"724\" height=\"408\" src=\"https:\/\/jnhcoaching.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/OBF1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5640\" style=\"width:303px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/jnhcoaching.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/OBF1.png 724w, https:\/\/jnhcoaching.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/OBF1-300x169.png 300w, https:\/\/jnhcoaching.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/OBF1-18x10.png 18w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 724px) 100vw, 724px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#704c9f\" class=\"has-inline-color\">A LAST FEW THOUGHTS&#8230;<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A few additional quotes I jotted down during the conference that resonated with, inspired, or moved me:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c<em>Our ancestors didn\u2019t leave the Stone Age because they ran out of stone<\/em>.\u201d ~Lillian Gjerulf Kretz<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/jnhcoaching.us17.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=1edbcf2879558e7cdb5ac6676&amp;id=7b23c1502d&amp;e=56e0a5cca5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pippa Malmgren<\/a>&nbsp;encouraged us to \u201c<em>upgrade to Heartware<\/em>\u201d. \u2665<br><br>\u201cAre you attracting talent that is willing to be developed? If we want courageous leadership tomorrow, we need to think about how we measure courage today.\u201d ~ Andr\u00e9 Mundal<br><br>\u201cThe best leaders prioritize tech&nbsp;<strong>Ziele zu definieren und diese auch zu erreichen.&nbsp;<\/strong>heart\u201d ~ Terence Mauri<br><br>\u201cFundamentally what people want is a caring environment.\u201d ~&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/jnhcoaching.us17.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=1edbcf2879558e7cdb5ac6676&amp;id=38d0fc1bf3&amp;e=56e0a5cca5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dr. Eliza Filby<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>This was just a snippet of what I loved at the OBF and wanted to share.
