WRAPPING UP THE YEAR

Hello Friends!

Oh how I love this time of year! Even this year, when so many of my holiday favourites have been cancelled, it’s still a time of love and reflection and I am here for it!

Before diving into my favourite books, podcasts and interesting links, I’d like to take a moment to wish you and your loved ones a very happy and especially healthy holiday season!  2020 has been a challenging year for all of us, but I do hope that it has also held a few happy moments and silver linings. And I hope you are able to relax, recharge, and re-energize over the holiday period, and enjoy the festivities in whatever form they take this year. ♥

Podcasts

This podcast on How to Give and Receive the Perfect Gift really hit the nail on the head for me. I definitely fall victim to over-stressing about Christmas presents and listening to this podcast really helped me relax a bit about it. Worth a listen.

And I loved this short, 5-minute podcast on reviewing the year. So simple, yet so brilliant! I’ll be incorporating this into my review routine as well.

Annual Review

One of my favourite parts of the holiday season is reviewing the year. It’s quite astonishing how much we forget happened in a year, and given how unusual this year was, I think we are even more prone to that this year. So this is a great time to review and reflect on the year!

I generally start my review by covering off a few topics in my Year in Review. One of the resources I use to get myself in the right mindset for this is this article from the Globe & Mail from a few years ago. While it may be from 2014, the questions for self-reflection are always relevant!

And no review would be complete without a review of my favourite books! I did manage to hit my goal of reading one non-fiction book per month this year and found that that really enriched both my personal and professional development. Both Emotional Agility and Fiber Fueled completely transformed my life this year.

This year I am also excited to give this review a try. A friend recommend it and it looks like it’s right up my alley! Does anyone want to join me in giving this a go? Let me know if you do!

I also want to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you for being part of my community this year. I am so incredibly grateful to have such caring and interesting people in my lives who are as motivated and thrilled by the love of learning as I am, and words just can’t express how appreciative I am for this circle of love being possible. ♥ Thank you for being part of it!!

Wishing you a wonderful holiday, and all the very best for a wonderful start to the New Year!!

Lots of hugs,
